Dr. Michael Stadiem

I decided to become a physician because I was inspired by my own family doctor. His dedication to his patients and the relationships he built with them made a lasting impression on me and ultimately led me to pursue a career in medicine.

I attended the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and Lebanon Valley College, graduating in 1972. I then attended the University of Pennsylvania School of Medicine, graduating in 1976, followed by a Family Practice residency at Harrisburg General Hospital in Pennsylvania.

I moved to North Carolina in 1979 and have spent most of my career practicing medicine in Cary. For four years, I practiced in Clayton, and returned to the Holly Springs/Cary area.

Family has always been an important part of my life. I have four sons, an adopted son, and a stepdaughter, along with four grandsons and two granddaughters. When my sons were growing up, I spent countless hours coaching and attending their soccer, baseball, and basketball games. Now I’m enjoying watching the next generation of my family—my grandsons—begin to experience those same activities.

I was a pretty good athlete myself when I was younger, and I still enjoy staying active. These days, I play golf and, of all things, ping pong. I also have a great appreciation for music. I often wish I could sing better, but that certainly doesn’t stop me from singing along while I’m driving.

After many years of practicing medicine, I remain grateful for the opportunity to care for patients and build meaningful relationships with the people and families I serve. I look forward to continuing that journey back in the Cary community.
